LAVH Lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy: Why did I get to be in the .02%? Nick in ureter.

Had my laparoscopic hysterectomy on March 13th. Had uterus, cervix, and tubes removed. Dr said typical surgery no issues. I was in a great deal of pain and ended up staying in the hospital till the 15th. Went home things were well till Wednesday of last week. I was feeling a lot of pressure and pain. Couldn't go number two which I had been going since Saturday. So on Thursday morning I woke up and took miralax. I had 4 very very painful BM's felt like something was sitting on my rectum blocking it. So painful I broke out in sweats and felt like I was going to pass out. Called the dr on Friday morning because I was sore and hurt. They said hemorrhoids but scheduled me in for Monday to check things. Well Friday night I sat down to dinner and felt a gush. I ended up soaking 5 pads in 4 hours. Woke my BF and said I think we need to go to the ER. Unfortunately I had no more pads. I improvised ripped the sides of a pull up and put it in my panties. ER dr ran blood work, inter and outer ultrasound on call dr came from the surgeons office did a pelvic exam and felt a hematoma. Since I was bleeding she had me admitted. Did a CT scan. It was inconclusive wether fluid or hematoma,showed nothing abnormal in the bladder or utterers. Saturday the blood started turning to fluid. On Sunday the dr came in and I told her the fluid smelled of urine. By this time anytime I drank something I was soaking a pad in 15mins. Finally got over my ego and had the nurse bring me depends. Dr consulted a urologist. He saw there was urine in the fluid and scheduled me for emergency surgery Sunday night at 8pm. 3 hours later I woke up to extreme pain and them doing a pain block on both sides, had a cath in, drain pump, and an incision from belly button down. The urologist found a nick in the utterer. Couldn't get a stint in had to cut the utterer and reattach to the bladder. Luckily all that great stuff came with a morphin button. Monday was an okay day I walked a little. They were drawing blood every six hours. Monday night and Tuesday morning g blood level dropped into the 7's. Tuesday they wouldn't let me up not that I felt likeit anyhow. Ended up with two units of blood transfused last night. Feeling a little more human today and hopefully get to go home on Friday. Getting a little irritated with my gyn/onc and the urologist with their honkerblonking contest over who's in control of my care. I just want to get better and go home!!!

I am so sorry! I wish I lived closer to help you and comfort you, after reading all you have gone through i'm feeling frustrated for you! Thank goodness they found what the problem was and you can now be on the road to recovery.

My goodness. I'm so sorry you've had to experience all of that pain. I hope you're on the road to recovery now with no other serious issues.
