7 days after hysterectomy and doing well??

Its day 7 since my surgery and I feel pretty good except for coughing and pressure/swelling in my abdomen. Ive been driving and returned to work in childcare without lifting or overdoing anything, just taking it easy.
I have heard so many stories of recovery but I seem to be doing ok, is this normal or will I hit a wall hard? What should I expect?

I had a very smooth and easy recovery, just it sounds like you are. You will not necessarily have any setbacks, I did not. As long as you continue to follow your restrictions and stop if you get sore or tired, you will likely be just fine

This is a support site, so the most of the women who post are looking for support as they go through difficult recoveries. Myself, I had a TAH with a very easy recovery - minimal pain, no complications. Since I'd basically put the rest of my life on hold for at least four weeks in expectation of a more difficult recovery, the whole thing turned into a relaxing vacation, with plenty of time to go walking and to sit in the sun reading and sewing.

The lesson I learned from my recovery was: I need to put life on hold and take time for myself more often!
