Pain meter??

Hi Everyone,
Going into the castle in the morning. Is someone subject to more pain if they have everything taken out as oppsed to someone who just has there uterus removed?? My doctor says no but I find that hard to beleive. I'm having everything removed just wandering how much pain I will be in. Thanks so much everyone.

Pain meter??

I think the pain would be the same........ You wouldn't experience more pain for having your ovaries removed as apposed to just having the uterus and not the ovaries.

Pain meter??

Hi

Generally speaking, your pain levels won't be affected by whether you had one organ taken out versus six or seven. Your pain level depends upon your own tolerance for pain, and your pain threshold - the first being, "how much you can take" and the second being "the point at which you first start to feel pain".

So, a person with a low tolerance and threshold who only had for example, their appendix removed, might feel more pain than a person with a high tolerance and threshold who had their appendix, uterus, both ovaries, part of their colon and their tubes taken out.

It's really a very individual thing, but it's not dependent upon what's being removed

Hope this helps!

Many warm wishes,

Tess

Pain meter??

Hi,

I had my uterus and cervix out, but kept my ovaries
and f. tubes. Personally I don't think it would make
a difference painwise if they took the ovaries and tubes
also. Im doing well my tells me. I went to see
him today. I told him he must have done a good job,
He said no it's not me, everyone heals different and
feels pain differently. I wish you luck on your big day.

Pain meter??

I had a LAVH/BSO on 05/07.

My DR took out all the bits that hurt.

I'm in less pain now than I was prior to my surgery.

Pain Chart

Somewhere on this web site I read a chart that shows degrees of pain. I'd like to take it to the castle but I can't find it. Can you help?
