Is it going to be a good visit cause I am a little frustrated at this point???

So my mom is coming today to stay with me for 2 weeks to help me out. Well they drove almost 1/2 way last night. I know when they stay in this certain location they like to play. But I thought things would be different as they are heading here for a different reason. So I was expecting them to arrive around 3 pm today, ok I can handle that I just have to deal with the kids till about noon - 1pm and than the baby goes for a nap and I can take a nap and than mom would be here when he woke up.

Well let me just preface and say I called my mom last night to tell her the dr wants to see me again on monday because I am leaking from my belly button incision. The dr says I am overdoing it and not to do anything. Well dh started back at work yesterday and I did have some help around here but I thought I would be good for today. So I thought that bit of information would speed my mom up in wanting to get here.

Well I talked to her around 11 this morning and they were just getting ready to get on the road, they hadn't even left yet cause they got playing. She told me the other day she wanted to be on the road by 9 am at the latest. So I guess the evil side in me kicked in and I said well I guess I will call around and see if I can find someone to help me out. And than I had planned on her cooking dinner so I told people we did not need dinner tonight. So I than said well are you guys just going to stop and get dinner, do I need so see if I can call someone to bring in dinner. She just said she would call me later.

Now I know it probably is not going to be the funniest visit because she will have to help me more than usually but she still gets to play with the grandkids. Now I am thinking maybe I don't want her here if I am an inconvenience. Before she got of the phone she said well we do have to have some fun.

I feel bad even having her come to care for me. I don't know I am just rambling cause I have been looking forward to her getting her. I really do need help, I should not be doing the things I am doing and I can't control myself. Ughhhhh, I just hope the visit goes well.

It sounds like you needed to be more frank with your mom and let her knnow how much pain you are in and that you need her help and ask her not to play and head straight to your house. She might not know how you are recovering or how you feel and how urgent you feel to have her there if you weren't telling her everything. Be open with your concerns and your restrictions with her when she gets there and let her know what all they did during surgery and how things are going now and how you are feeling and I hope your visit with her works out.

Oh she knows and she tells me I better not be doing things and I just need to rest.

Every aspect about what we are going through is frustrating! The important thing is that you MUST take it easy! This is sooooo difficult, but you must or you will not heal right. Let your Mother do all that she can for you, and anyone else for that matter.

That is good that she knows and if she is saying that you need to rest then she knows you are not suppose to be doing things and hopefully she will be a big help for you.

I agree with Aware. I think you need to talk to your mother, explain what your going through and what your needs are, and if she dismisses them in any way, you may need to call someone else for help. I wish I could help you myself! Good Luck. Let us know how it goes.

I do know once she gets here she will do so much more than has been done around here. I have had great help, but I know she will see the further needs. I think I am just being probably irrational, I have just been counting down for the day she comes and I want here her now not tonight.

Thanks for listening to me. I just need to figure out how to control myself. Since I was frustrated that she would not be here until later I knew I could not stand my kitchen floor that long so I sweeped it up. I just don't know what to do with myselft. I tell myself I am not going to touch a thing and I seem to do the opposite. How in the world am I going to make it until Sept 11th to get my restrictions hopefully lifted.

I know what you mean. I can't seem to help myself either. I vacuumed the other day. I have two dogs and I couldn't stand the hair anymore. Nobody else seems to notice! My other problem is, I think my family thinks I should be over this already and back in full swing! Its only 2 weeks today! But because I have been doing a few things(a little more each day)They think I'm ready to go. Even my boss is asking when I'm coming back! I did tell him I could work from home a few weeks after surgery, but I'm feeling the pressure from all angles too soon.
