Internal pain?

Hello everyone! Had ovaries and uterus removed via laparoscopy and vaginal 1-week ago (the 28th). I'm releived to have the surgery over with! The hospital, doctors and nurses were very nice and accomedating. I spent 1- night in the hospital after.

Is anyone else still having pain (internally)? I thought the bad pain part would be over by now. My pelvic floor really hurts if I sit up for any length of time. In addition I feel like I have bad cramps throughout my lower abdomin if I don't take my pain medicine. Maybe that is all normal - I'm not patient and want to be up and going now -which I realize may not be realistic- but I also want to make sure I do a good job taking care of myself.

Re: Internal pain?

I think what your feeling is perfectly normal. No matter how they do your hyster it is major surgery. I am not a doctor though so if you feel like something isn't right you should call your doctors office. I am 4 1/2 months now and still feel twinges now and then. There are some women on the board who feel more at this point. It takes some of us a long time to heal.

When in doubt call the doc....

Re: Internal pain?

Thanks for the support. It made me feel better.

I think I got a little worried when I checked the posts for post-op for1-week and most said they didn't have any pain already. I know everyone is different, but I'm a pretty tough girl when it comes to pain and to see that most didn't feel pain I started to second guess whats "normal"
