Hysterectomy postponed plus new to site

Hello I was scheduled for LAVH unfortunately my surgery was postponed two days before the date. Pending an MRI bc my cervix is enlarged which I really don't understand why it matters waiting now for my insurance to approve the MRI....I've had CT and Vaginal ultrasound so I'm pretty confused about getting an MRI all of a sudden when my surgery had been scheduled for weeks.
Anyway I'm having a hard time with your site...like how do I post on the message boards I hope I'm doing it right?...I'm pretty terrified to have this surgery. Kinda glad in a way that I have more time to think about it.
Hope to learn how to use this site ASAP. So I can get some advice on the surgery.

Re: Surgery postponed plus new to site

Hi! Welcome! I had my LAVH 9/20. You will be just fine. I know how frustrating insurance can be. At the laat minute they denied my claim. I was scheduled for surgery at 6 AM and ended up waiting until after 2 PM as my doc tried to talk down the insurance medical director.

It is hard but just try to let it be. Certain things are beyond our control. Try to concentrate on taking the best care of yoursellf that you can and use those last couple days extra to make sure you are prepared. Have a little extra fun too!

As far as the site....are you accessing it on a phone? I do, and it is hard to navigate sometimes.

Hi Spiveypct to HysterSisters!

I am so glad you found this site.

You did just fine with your first post. . I know this site can be a bit daunting at first, but it filled with wonderful, supportive women that will respond to your posts. To respond back, you hit "New Reply" and a window will open up and you type in what you want to say. The site is also loaded with tons of information. For starters, you may want to look at our pre-op page.

The reason your doctor wanted an MRI done before your surgery was to get a better idea of what is going on. Sometimes they want to know this before the surgery - it helps them plan.

Your emotions, fears, nerves and feelings are very normal. This is one difficult surgery to face and digest.

From this site I have learned that a hysterectomy will not cure endo. You need an expert to remove the disease. Here is an article that discusses this:
Can Endometriosis Return after a Hysterectomy?

Just know that you are not alone in this. We are here for you and understand exactly what you are going through.
