Bleeding 3 weeks post-op - LAVH-LSO

I have been feeling really good. My pain had mostly gone away and I was up and moving around the house the first week. The second week my husband went back to work - he flies for a air cargo company and was to be gone 20 days. I became a single mom again - I'm used to it, but I was worried. So, I had to jump right back in just one week after surgery - for everything but work. I have been taking my son to school so I went back myself - I am a nursing student so some of my books weigh 10 pounds a piece. I knew I was over doing it, and my mom kept bugging me about it - but I didn't know what else to do.

Today when I got back from taking my son to school I went the bathroom and was suddenly bleeding very heavily. I haven't had bleeding this bad since before I had my ablation in 2008, and I didn't even bleed at all after it. I am having abdominal pain too, on the side they took the ovary from.

So now I'm bleeding and they are asking me "how many pads?" I had a hard time answering, because there aren't any pads in my house. I should have just said "well, I soaked a pair of sweats almost to the knees". I just sat down in my desk chair (with a plastic bag over it) and leaned forward to feel better.

I have an appointment with the GYN in 2 hours. I hope it's 'nothing' but I have a feeling that it is going to require something that hurts to fix it.

I guess I'm scared or maybe just nervous. I don't want to miss more school, I'm still behind. I want to go back to work.

I'm sorry I'm whining, but there isn't anyone here to talk to.

I can appreciate your being scared ... for sure. I HATE the bleeding.

Please do follow up. I am 3 weeks post op and started bleeding today. Not near as much as you but enough to scare me to death.

Make sure you get checked out, I starting bleeding at 3 weeks post op. It started light and got heavier as the night went on. Turned into a pad every 10 minutes and softball size clots. It was a vessel that somehow tore and have to have emergency surgery. Scary stuff. Not worth to not go to the dr and get checked out.
