TAH Sneezing and coughing

I'm almost 5 weeks post op and when I sneeze or cough omg it hurts so bad.

Yes ma'am! I sneezed while driving yesterday. I didn't know what to do, covering my mouth and my belly left no room for the wheel!

I'll be glad when I can cough sneeze and laugh without needing a pain pill but I know it takes time and I'm still in the healing process.

mfive, I put up a similar post this morning but I am 10 weeks post op. After coughing where it hurt in one particular spot, I have had intermittent jabs in the same spot. Have you? I hope I didn't tear something. It was just a few coughs, not even hard :-(

Oh yes and I be wondering if I tore something also

mfive, you have pain in the exact same spot where it hurt when you coughed? Is it constant or every hour, few minutes? Is it right by the stitches, maybe you can tell me where? I had a vertical cut and it's right near there.

That's the pain I'm ready to be gone.. Even deep laughter gets me still too.

But do you get it AFTER? I had no pain there until I coughed last night and now something seems wrong because I am getting jabs in the same spot.

I have a vertical cut also and my stomach is still sore but I get a sharp pain where my incision is that comes and goes away quickly but that darn sneezing and coughing really hurts.

Hey girls, I am 2 weeks post op. I have bronchitis. If any of u are having frequent coughing I would highly recommend getting an abdominal binder. It's had been a complete life saver for me. The extra support help with the pain & I have heard that it will help with the chance of hernia. Trust me when I say I feel ur pain..... About every 15 minutes for 2 or 3 minutes since Monday night. There were times when I was sure I was dying. The binder has helped so much. I hope u all do well. Oh & I also have the stabby pains, also worried. Plan to discuss with my dr at my next appt. I really hope the 4 days without the binder didn't do too much damage. Wishing u less pain & rapid healing.
