20 months post hysterectomy: Swelly Belly! 😡

Ladies I've had my surgery over 2 years ago and this swelly belly comes and goes. I workout and sweat my butt off to get rid of this belly! When it happens I feel so fat and some days it's back to normal. Will it ever end or am I stuck with this up and down gut! I've even considered a tummy tuck but 1. I'm nervous as heck to do it and 2. I don't need anymore debt! LOL

Re: 20 months post hysterectomy: Swelly Belly! 😡

If you excercice on your core, it may be causing the inflammation resulting in a swelly belly. I a doubt tummy tuck can resolve inflammation issue.
Also, it may be due to the food you eat...
I have a very flat belly, but depending on the food it eat and if I work out my core a lot (crossfit) I still get it - 3 years post op

Re: 20 months post hysterectomy: Swelly Belly! 😡

Not saying it couldn't happen, but based on what I've read I'd say that experiencing swelly belly due to hysterectomy 2-3 years after surgery is the exception rather than the rule. Keep in mind that it's normal for muscle tissue to swell after a hard workout, partly due to blood flow and partly due to the body repairing or replacing cells damaged during the workout.

Also keep in mind that if you still have your ovaries and haven't been through menopause yet, then your hormones are still cycling. Many women (hyster sisters or not) find that their bodies retain fluid the week before their period. That's still going to happen.

If you've already gone through menopause, then you may find that your body is more likely to deposit any extra weight you're carrying on your belly - the way a man's body does - rather than distributing it.

Re: 20 months post hysterectomy: Swelly Belly! 😡

I find that I get more bloated by the end of the day and it cause pain. My doc said it could be what I am eating so when I don't eat oatmeal, tomatoes, milk, brown bread, I don't get it. I also GE the swelling when I am at work as my job can be physical at times.. I didn't have the issue before but the lack of a lot of hormones may be playing a part in this..

> it's my point, excercice causes inflammation-swelling
And some foods can cause bloating.
Which is different than belly fat.
