A few Hours Post Op

Waiting is over. Today was my first ever surgery and I have to say I'm feeling awesome! I was terrified of anesthesia, nausea (havent had ANY yet) and that was a breeze although from what they said it took me a little bit to wake up! I kept both tubes and ovaries and got rid of the uterus with fibroids and cervix. I have a little pulling on the left side but the nurse said its probably from the catheter that they haven't removed yet. Hurry up 5pm cst I want this thing out lol! I've only had Demerol for pain and its been about a 2 on the scale so far. Other than that I'm burping and I can feel the gas moving a little so hopefully it won't stick around too long. DH went back to the house because I forgot my stupid brush and since I have to stay til early (hopefully) tomorrow I want my hair outta the way. So if I'm concerned with that yeah I must be feeling pretty good. Lol!!! Wishing all my fellow castle sisters safe surgery and gentle hugs! It's nice to me on this side!!

Great to hear you are doing so well!! Keep that good mojo a goin' right on through recovery!! I couldn't wait for morning to come so I could go home either. The first Dr. (the overnight Dr.) was in at 6:30 am and my surgeon was in by 7:30 am and said..yup..you're doing great, you're outta here. Hope yours is just as fast. Just an FYI..if you're DH isn't back yet, have him bring a small pillow for between your tummy and the seat belt on the way home tomorrow morning, have him bring one. You'll appreciate the added security.

I'm glad you're doing so well. Not to rain on your parade, but do be warned: gas moving doesn't necessarily mean gas gone! Especially with a DvH, since they pump your abdomen up. I didn't notice much in the way of gas until Sun or Mon after a Fri surgery. But you're right to want your brush; getting spruced up will make you feel better!

Oops! Make that Sat or Sun after a Fri surgery. I'm normally a little loopy with fibromyalgia, and even Motrin intensifies the effect.

Yes I feel much better with my hair up!! I am belching a lot which is good because I actually have stomach gas issues and that's when it hurts! Still haven't slept since I woke up in recovery not even dozing. Cath is now gone and I'm in my own pjs so hoping for the ability to pee on my own. They told me I have 4 hours to do it. Awww my honey is so sweet after bringing me my own water (propel) he also brought me a stuffed frog, card that made me cry (it was too sweet), a cat coloring book with colors. I'm 33 I feel like a kid but I don't care it's my day and I love those little things in life!!!
