dVH/RALH Cough post-op, 2 days

Hello:

I woke up with a cough and I am two days out. I find myself coughing when I get up from lying down and when I go to speak...also after I eat sometimes. I also find it hurts on my right side (middle abdomen/under right breast) when I cough or breathe in deeply, especially while lying down. My voice is hoarse, too, and was when I got out of surgery.

Is this to be expected, or shall I call the doctor's office? At first I thought the cough was a fluke, however it has not gone away.

Other than this and the pain, I feel OK.

This is sometimes caused by intubation from anesthesia.Which usually goes away in 2-3 days.
