Pain with LAVH/A & P - TOT - where??

I am scheduled for a LAVH/A&P repair and TOT sling on 7-21-05. For all you post-op sisters who had a similar procedure - when you say there is pain post-op, where is the pain? It is basically vaginal? Just curious as to where to anticipate the discomfort.
.

Thanks!!

Pain with LAVH/A & P - TOT - where??

I had a LAVH on 6/16/05. I had severe endo, cysts, and adenomytosis inside & outside my uterus. The pain I experienced was mostly at the incision sites on my belly. So far, I've had minimal pain internally.

Hope this helps some. Maybe some of the other princesses will have more information for you. Best wishes to you on the 21st!

Well, I didn't have the repairs that you're having so I can't speak for those.

As far as the LAVH (May 4) goes, the two incisions on the "sides" of my abdomen were fine but my belly button wasn't too thrilled with the second Lap in six weeks. The bruising from the Demerol shots on my hips was the worst. I only had bruises about the size of a nickel around the two incisions. There were occasional "zingers" in the vagina. My lower back was pretty unhappy with me too (still is after a long day at work on my feet). I was pretty much done with any pain meds within the first week.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery and be sure to let us know how it all goes! Take care.

Pain with LAVH/A & P - TOT - where??

I had LAVH-right ovary and tube out (done 6/20/05)....most of my pain has been on the right side where the ovary was removed. I had endo and some adhesions with most of the pain on the right side. The incisions weren't that painful.

Pain with LAVH/A & P - TOT - where??

I had my LAVH on June 14. Most severe pain was centralized around my belly button incision. Second worse pain was due to the air they pump into your abdomen to be able to see what they're doing. My advice. . .walk as soon as you can after surgery to get the air moving, I didn't and ended up throwing up 30 hours after my surgery OUCH!!! OUCH!!!

Also ask them about using a stool softener as this really seemed to help with the gas issues, which in my case, lingered for a week or so.

Good luck!
