9 weeks post-op and having pains in my stomach

My surgery was nine weeks ago and I am having moderate to severe pains in my stomach. I had to go to the emergency room a few weeks ago as the pain became more sharp and severe than normal. X-rays and blood work were completed but no problems were found. I am 47 yrs old and cannot belive I am having so much pain. I plan to start working in a week and don't know what more to do. Help!!!!!!

I've also been having the same problem. my stomach still feels messed up and also my bowels. I have BM's everyday with no trouble, but I am terribly gassy, especially in the evening. I also get pain where my ovaries were. I wrote in another post how frustrated I am by all of this. I just want to feel normal. The only thing I can think of was that I was terribly constipated before surgery because I was on iron and maybe my bowels are readjusting to the lack of iron pills now. Hope we both feel better soon.

9 weeks post-op and having pains in my stomach

Hi . I am 6 weeks post tvh and am also having lots of bowel based pain and problems even doing BM. I saw my GP a couple of weeks ago and mention the pain he put it down to the proximety of my internal wound and said it can actually stick itself to the bowel and my symptoms would improve . this for me is not true i now have swelling again , lots of gas, sorry, and am struggling to have any BM without the aid of laxatives. On the bright side compared with how i felt pre-op i feel great. Good luck with your recovery , hope you feel better soon

bowel movements

I was told by my urogynoclogist to take Miralax. It is a powder and you mix it with juice, etc. I do not like it, but it does the trick. He also told me not to strain to have a bm. That is hard for me because I, too, am constipated and my stools are usually difficult. Before the surgery, I had a routine with stool softeners and a herbal laxative that worked for me. But the Miralax has done the trick. I do not strain, and have no problem.
I went to a physical therapist several years ago and she said instead of holding my breath and pushing hard, to breath out of my mouth slowly as if I were pushing for birth. That seems to keep me from straining. \
Try Miralax and see if that helps.

9 weeks post-op and having pains in my stomach

My bowels have been okay since about a week out from the castle, but as for the pain - I still get stomach pain. Last night I felt like the first night home from the castle. I almost went for one of my percocets, as I saved about 75 percent of them upon my return home. I was amazed at my setback. And today at work I had lots of pain in my abdomen after much progress during the time I had off and even walking tons each day. I guess work is a lot harder than 10,000 steps! All I can say is I can totally relate to the pain question. I am going to ask my OB about it 8/31....I'll be 7 weeks and a few days post op by then. I can't wait for a day when I say to myself, 'nothing hurt inside today. WOW' Good luck to you. I just wanted to say you are not alone. E

spiritelb.... bowel pain or stomach muscle/cavity pain??? At 4:30 or so each day my stomach gets soooooooooooooooooo tight and painful. It really feels like it might pop. I guess this is the dreaded swelly belly but I'd say this is to the extreme. Hang in there. We are all sending you to best wishes to feel better!

Hi ladies . I just want to say i wish i had found this site weeks ago . i was sat at home thinking this was a subject nobody wanted to talk about and who i could talk to without sounding like a hypocondriac (forgive my spelling). Thanks for being there and letting me know i am not alone. I will also keep coming back to help others, if i can , after their surgery. there is nobody other than a post -op lady who knows what we have been through.

9 weeks post-op and having pains in my stomach

I usually don't have morning pain (if I do then I REALLY panic!) but today, for ex., i have a swelly belly and i've only just gotten out of bed and monday it's 7 weeks post op. I know I'll have pain later, though........and when I sit certain ways while driving i get pains. It's weird how they come and go. I know rest is important: i will bet my belly is more swollen today bec. i am not getting enough rest (I won't go into the reasons WHY: they are related to DD and friends who make way toooooo much noise around here for a soul to rest)............

Malindi you are definitely not alone. Take care. E.
