TVH Hot flashes after hysterectomy

Hi. It has been a long while since I posted on this site. But I was wondering what is everybody's opinion on something.

I had my TVH on Dec. 27, 2012. I got to keep my ovaries & tubes. But since I had my TVH I have been having awful hot flashes for the past couple mos or so. I thought about calling my dr to see what he suggests. It is driving me crazy! They always happen in the morning when I am at work or at night. I am literately sweating & dripping like I have the flu! Something has to give!

It sounds like you need to talk to your doctor about hormones. It may be that your ovaries are just not producing enough hormones. Here is an article that may help: Ovary shut-down post-hysterectomy. Perhaps your doctor will want you to do some HRT to supplement your hormones.
