picking pain?????

What exactually do you mean by picking pain? I am 9 weeks TVH, I guess you could say I feel uncomfortable if I sit to long or stand to long. I had sex the first time last week, it was pain free, but had some ache and pulling afterwards.

picking pain?????

I still get that stitch feeling, but it isnt very often. I had it last night for a while. I had been standing for quit some time , so maybe it is normal.
I am feeling kinda achey in there. Dont know why or what from. at 9 almost 10 weeks I really thought I would feel good, my Dr. has said I should feel nothing by now. I think I might call him this week and see. I was almost feeling nothing, until he did the silver nitrate, then I got a little crampy and now achey. (1 1/2) weeks into that. Go figure. I think it really must take alot of time.

Are you back to doing everything you did before? I still am far from that. I wish I was! Maybe call you Dr. and see if the picking feeling is normal, I have heard some girls have stitches for a long time that irritate them until the Dr. removes them.

picking pain?????

Jojuge31... Where is the "picking" pain? at the opening to your vagina, or deeper? I felt it quite a while at the opening from the episiotomy cut that the doctor did. I don't have it now, but if I press with my fingers on the skin between my vaginal opening and my anus I can feel that, inside, there are STILL stitches that need to dissolve. fortunately, they are not pricking me.

Hoogie, I still ache a bit too, also thought I'd be over it all by now. I do feel better though, how 'bout you? Sex was scary last night... but fun too. Now I'm sore at the opening. No blood though.

Jojuge31, did it sting at your vaginal opening when you first had sex again?

picking pain?????

jojuje31,

I'm sorry about the pain still present ... Have you been examined recently, and what did the doc say? I have some stubborn left side pain too... having an ultrasound Wednesday. Mine isn't as bad as when the doc ordered the test,(it always takes so long with Kaiser), but i'm going ahead with it anyway since it isn't completely gone.

Please return to this post and let us/me know what your doc says. I will pray for you.

picking pain?????

I notice that all of us have hadTVH's about the same time, I had mine 03/29/05. Do any of you still feel swollen in there? I went to bathroom today and stuck my finger a little up there and it is kinda bumpy,(i know, TMI)
like maybe it is still swollen?!?!
Cathy, sex was OK, no pain, just nervous and scared. I was really sore the next day(boy am I out of shape) so the next morning after walking I stretched out on the floor, it felt so good at the time but I was relly pulling later that day, especial;ly when I went pee. I called the Dr. and they said no sex for another week, and it probably all got alittle irritated. I really think now, it was all the stretching. Also, the nurse practitioner said you have to give yourself 3 full mos. before you can expect to feel no side affect from what you do, like sex, vacuuming, yard work ect. That is the first I had heard that. It was nice to know that maybe I am normal not feeling so wonderful at this time in my recovery!

Sorry so long. I would really like to hear if you guys feel swollen in there though, or should I call the Dr. yet again!?!

Thanks for all the posts! I just love you all!

picking pain?????

Hoogie,

Wow, thanks for the info that the nurse prac. told you. I don't do a lot of physical stuff yet, because I am just still too sore, but sex has REALLY made me feel sore, swollen and achey again. I figured I'd wait another two weeks before I try THAT again! You see, my surgeon told me at the 6 week check-up to wait 10 if not 12 weeks... then my GYN said, (later), you'll know when it's ok... so I felt good and thought I knew it was ok... NOPE, won't do that again for a while, even though 10 weeks is tomorrow.

I am very bumpy inside, but I also had a rectocele repair that included a skin graft. I think I always felt pretty bumpy though. My GYN was explaining to me that the places that were stitched are raised and kind of hard, (bumpy), but over time they get softer. This was because I was having a hard time inserting the applicator for the estrogen cream. She litterally had to tell me to move it over to one side where I wouldn't feel as much resistance. I was afraid to push the applicator in, that I would do damage. It's all such a mystery to me.

jojuje31,

I can understand getting pains from sex and standing too long, but I wonder why those pains come on from eating or drinking? I had a LOT of pains vaginally from bubbles moving through my intestines earlier on, or if I eat especially spicy foods even now, when it is passing through the lower parts of my abdomen. I have to be a lot more careful what I eat. Do you think it has anything to do with that?

Whew there is a lot to healing from this operation! Sorry, my posts tend to be long...

Cathy
