Endometriosis after TAH

It's been 15 months since my TAH and I have a bad feeling the Endo has returned. I have pelvic pain/crampy and sharp shooting pains where my ovaries were. Has anyone else had this happen and it was Endo?

I had been feeling great no pains what so ever until now ..

I am taking an HRT and have been since the day after my surgery. I know some doctors have you wait 6 months, I have no clue why mine didn't!? I should have asked her.

Endometriosis after TAH

We have several women on the site who have had endo return after their hyst. Or even be diagnosed with endo after their hyst. For myself, I know my dr purposely left endo on my bowel walls as the risk of removing it was too high, and over the last year my pain has steadily increased. My dr believes it is endo, adhesions, and scar tissue. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure, is a lap. For me, that is out of the question.

Do see your dr and talk to him/her about your options. Depending on your health situation, you may be able to adjust your HRT, try progesterone to treat the endo, or maybe some of the other medications to treat endo might help.

If at all possible, you may wish to see an endometriosis specialist. Also, monitoring your pain with ReliefInsite’s online Pain Diary as I do can be beneficial for you and your dr.

You may wish to visit an endometriosis specialist if at all possible.

Many best wishes to you and know that unfortunately, you are not alone! in there!

Thank you for all your advice....I called my doctor and she's out of town until Tuesday! I've got to get in and see her.......

I probably shouldn't have just stopped taking my hormone medicine, I am feeling rather crabby!! Better start back up tomorrow!! Shame on me !!

Endometriosis after TAH

I've also had pain return after my hyst. I was told that some people who are prone to scar tissue have about a 50% chance of it recurring. Of course, I was told that only after the pain recurred! I've already lost body parts trying to get rid of this pain. I'm not all that willing to try anything else. I do find it interesting that the post above mentioned trying progesterone. I was only on estrogen up until a week ago and through the advice of a compounding pharmacist, progesterone was added to my regimen. Maybe I'll get lucky and that will work for me. I was told it takes about 3 weeks for the body to feel the effects of progesterone, but even after only 1 week, my mood has been much, much more upbeat. I was told that (bio identical) progesterone is the "happy hormone". Sure is making me happier. Anyway, I'm hoping that it will also help my weight gain and sleepless nights. If it helps the pain too, wow, that would be a bonus...
