Six week check up, have to wait 1 more week

Well ladies I went for my 6 wk post-op check up today w/my Dr. Unfortunately I have to wait one more week before my husband and I can have sex again. My Dr. said that my vaginal cuff wasnt healed all the way. I'm going to go crazy, I'm feeling awesome (haven't felt this good since, well I'm not sure when), I have ENERGY, ENERGY, and more ENERGY. Anyhow, I guess one more week it will be.

It's great to hear you are feeling super!

My advice to you is to listen to your doc! Wait it out as he/she directs you to. I waited until I was 14 weeks post op before I "reconnected" with my husband and I was soooooo glad I did. No pain, no bleeding and no nerves. It was well worth the wait, even though it was hard to fight back the hormones!!

You need to be properly healed inside in order to avoid any possible infection or damage. If you do it too early, you can set yourself back a lot more weeks.

I know that it sounds dicouraging to have to wait one more week, but that is so much better than doing something that you shouldn't do and having to wait another month or more. My husband and I did not wait because I was feeling fine and then I had some bleeding. I also did not follow instructions and I was doing house work before I should have. I have had some bleeding off and on. I have not went for my six week check-up yet, but am afraid now of what the doctor will find and what he will tell me. Don't be crazy like I was . If I am not healed properly and the Dr adds on more recoverey time I will be mad. I hope that this helps you.

I know you feel great, so did I. But please wait. My vaginal cuff has come open twice since my surgery 5 months ago. Doc said I was fine, I waited 7 weeks, and it opened. TALK ABOUT PAIN! Then we waited anothe 6 weeks and it happened again. I"m sure I'm not the "norm" but I wanted to put this out there, so EVERYONE knows to listen to their doc. IF you have any pain or bleeding after sex, call your doc right away. I didn't the first time and it got infected. Please be careful and I hope and pray this message is read and no one else has to go through what I did!

hi all came back from docs yesterday 6 wk check up have to wait 4 more weeks before having sex dh was miserable but said it would be all the better the longer he had to wait think he was just trying to make me feel better .had to have some swobs taken as losing green mucus so going to listern to doc.its nice to know I am not the only one ready for some extra love and cuddlesso soon after surgury. to you all from jammy
