Leg pain with TVH

Anyone else have terrible leg pain after your vaginal hysterectomy?

My surgeon said I had a HUGE uterus and was in surgery 4 1/2 hours. She said they even took my legs down and massaged them lol.

I am having a terrible fit with my left one from the butt cheek down. So painful that it hurts to sit, so I can only recline.

I have been putting ice, heat and bio-freeze on it and still can barely lift my foot off the floor.

Shout out to any other pain in the legs

That's a long time to have your feet in stirrups. That's a lot of strain on your hips. I have arthritic hips and find that the combination of heat and Advil really help. I would call your doctor if you don't get relief soon. {{{HUGS}}}}

My legs were in stirrups my entire surgery (8 hours) and when I awoke mine were numb from the knees down.. I did have a little pain in one spot on both legs on the outside, but DVT was ruled out, and it was said with my other symptoms that I possibly had nerve damage. Thankfully when I reached about 5 weeks post op my legs woke up. It drove me beyond crazy. My GYN/ONC said to me at 3 weeks PO that if they weren't getting better by 6 weeks she was referring me to a neuro, I guess that scared them into working again, the last symptom I had was where it felt like I had a piece of hair wrapped around my second and third toe on my right foot and like it was being pulled tight. That finally eased off around 7-8 weeks out. I'm almost 15 out now and can't even tell any of it happened, and barely remember it. Lol. It should get better with time.

I had the same pain you have described. As well as some hip pain on same side. It went away at about the 2-3 week mark.

I am 8 days post op and last two days having a dull bottom leg, ankle and foot pain. My ankles really hurt to touch, anyone else? Do they happen to use straps during surgery on your ankles while in stirrups?
