I've got alot of questions (TVG, A&P Repair, Bladder Sling)

Ok, please don't laugh. I am having my surgery on Wednesday, and I AM SCARED TO DEATH. I had my pre-surgery appt. this evening, had all my bloodwork, paperwork done etc. I thought that I had asked all the questions that I had, but now that I am home, I have more...and thought that I would beg and plead for help here. So on Wednesday I am having a TVG, A&P Repair and Bladder repair with sling. I undestand that I will have a 4 inch incision on my abdomen from the bladder sling placement, but she says that it will not be all the way through, just a cut through the skin layer, meaning not through the muscle. I am assuming that I will still be sore from this? Anyone had this? Now the A&P repair sounds horrifically PAINFUL to recover from. Can anyone share info on this? My Dr. has explained this in great detail and shown me great illustrations about it, and all I can say is it sounds PAINFUL! ALOT of sutures. Can anyone share info on this? And then as far as the vaginal hyst. goes, how is the recovery for that? Can anyone share? I am grasping at straws here...and scared, incase I didn't mention that before, lol. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Sorry you didn't get all of your answers at the dr. I know there is a lot of work they are doing so it gets confusing on what to ask.

I had a TVH with rectocele repair. The TVH was not very painful at all , no problem for me there. The posterier repair was painful and I had a hard time sitting for any length of time. It helps to get a donut pillow. I lounged mostly and took meds for a few weeks or so for the pain.

I did not have the other work, but you can go to the top of the page and click on Resources and do a search (scroll to the bottom) and type in the name you want to research and while you are checking this, maybe someone will come along who has had this. Also if you click on Search at the top of the page and type in the name you can pull up posts and read what others have said on these procedures.

In the Bladder Matters forum there are ladies there who can answer questions concerning that part of your surgery.

Best wishes on your surgery.
