June 6th for me

I'm going in for surgery on Thursday, which has changed from laproscopic procedure to removal of the ovaries and uterus through the abdomen. That will mark exactly one month since I started bleeding two years into menopause, and first went to the doctor. I feel lucky that it has been such a short time and that the bleeding is my only symptom. What do I feel? I really don't know. Just kind of numb. Wanting it all to be over.

June 6th for me

I am Thursday too. I am nervous, a little scared and feel a bit numb too. I just can't believe sometimes that it has come to this. I know I will be okay but there is still the feeling of "what if something goes wrong" and "what if this is harder than I expect?" I just have to pray and know that everything happens for a reason. I'll pray for you too. Best wishes, Jennifer

Re: June 6th for me

I am going in on Thursday too...I too feel a little numb at this point and really emotional. I am second guessing it all as I am sure is normal but am hoping for the best possible outcome. Good luck to you ladies. I look forward to hearing from you on the other side.

Re: June 6th for me

Best wishes Sunnyduck and Serenity40. Good to know my numbness isn't unusual. I think it stems from feeling perhaps I should have been more energetic in going out and getting a second opinion. I would be so supportive of anyone else doing that, but I just didn't want to. Part of the reason I'm going ahead is just that June/July works out to be a great time for me to recuperate, and I don't know if that is the best reason. I suppose no one goes into surgery 100% sure they are doing the right thing.
