pre-op jitters
I need somebody, ANYBODY, to reassure me that I am not going to turn into the exorcist post-op! SO many women have told me their horror stories since my surgery was scheduled! I go for my LVH on April 22, and I am more terrified of the after-effects than I am of the surgery. (although I am a little scared of that, too). I had laproscopic gall-bladder surgery 3 years ago, and I have been told that this will be MUCH worse than that. Aren't folks nice to be so comforting!?!My (supposedly) best friend has offered her guest room to my husband in case I am impossible to live with. She says she was only joking, but I have to wonder! So if anyone would like to offer a little reassurance, it would be welcomed! Thanks!

Re: Hello
Hi,
I just wanted to try and lend you some comfort.......You will do fine !! It takes always for the body to adjust and to heal.....but eventually all comes together well. Jitters are normal, we have all had them. Waiting seems to be the worst part, I think. Just listen to your body and get plenty of rest, push the fluids, and dont over to it !!
Hugs,
Mays

Haven't heard any horror stories
everyone I talked to about this said that they did great. I believe that is about six people. They did well with the surgery and were able to get their hormones under control and they ALL said I am going to feel so much better.
I pray we all do
Good luck

pre-op jitters
I heard so many horror stories before my surgery. About a week before, I quit listening to them or reading them.
And. The surgery was a piece of cake. I was never in a lot of pain and still am not. I fit into my jeans 2 weeks post-op (though it took a bit of getting used to with the zipper over my incision) but that is likely because I was so bloated before the surgery that post-op swelling was the same. I had no nausea, and was walking all over the hospital. It will be hard to walk at first but do it. Every hour if you can. You will be utterly amazed at how much better you feel.
I am full of energy--I have been since the day after surgery, really. It was great. I went in thinking hey, this has to be done and nothing is as bad as you think it will be and I was right. I was jittery, of course--that is so normal--but the reality is a very nice surprise.

pre-op jitters
I am scheduled for TAH-BSO one week after yours on the 27th, I think it is real important to go in with a positive attitude that things will be okay and that I will be better.
I have to feel better, I will feel bette, I am getting better. I am going to keep repeating that to myself.
I am a luckly Leo, I believe I was born under a lucky star, and I know that someone is watching over me and always will be.

Don't listen to other women's horror stories. Your experience may not be perfect but every problem you may encounter can be dealt with and solved. I am now five days post-op and already feel 100% better than I did before surgery. Go in with a positive attitude and remember your hyster sisters are cheering you on.
