vagina Pain Fibromyalgia???

I am 5 months out from my surgery and I have been having pain in my vagina area. It is enough to make me ill but not enough to take pain killers all the time. I went to my doctor the other day and she examined me and said the pain was coming from my Fibromyaglia. She said my muscles inside were contracting. Has anyone here heard of this?
She said I should have physical therapy to control it. Fibromyalagia is nothing to play with. I have been out of work at least 5 years over it.

can you explain fybromyalgia to us? i have read about it, but don't understand...hugs to you. i am so sorry for your pain. i truely hope you can find relief.

Hi bonbon, I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and it is really a difficult diagnosis to live with since it's so hard to tell what pain is "real" and what is part of fibro. In my case, I do have arthritic problems that show up on x-rays as well and have gotten physical therapy for those areas. However, I haven't heard of pt for vaginal pain. I wonder what they do to relax your vagina---hmmmm??
I do know that after my hysterectomy, my body is a bit freaked, wondering just what happened here. I have muscles that hurt where they never did before and am just waiting for the dust to settle to sort out what's what.

Try going to the physical therapist, it could help and your dr authorized it so insurance won't be too prissy about covering it. Even if the pt doesn't help everything, they often have connections about other types of therapies and doctors that might help your situation. I know it's hard, but try to keep your sense of humor and you are not alone, so keep trying. Hugs to you!
