I'm home.

I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy and a left salpingo-oopherectomy yesterday. The surgery took a little longer than expected but it went well. There wasn't any sign of the right ovarian tumor that was removed in May. The GYN oncology fellow told me that I should have yearly followup but that he doesn't think I'll have any more trouble with it.

I knew the recovery would be quicker with a TLH but I'm still a little surprised how well I've done. I'm a little tired but otherwise feel almost back to normal. I think I'll go take a nap.

I'm home.

Frances:

I'm so glad to hear that you are home and feeling so good. Just remember to take it easy.

I'm having my TLH on Monday at 8:50am. You gave me so much hope and have calmed my nerves a little bit. I hope to do as well as you did.

Keep us posted!

I'm home.

Sandra,

I'm doing even better today. I took some Percocet at bedtime and got a good night's sleep. This morning I had a bowel movement (which surprised me since so many sisters have trouble with that). I took a shower, did a little yoga and went for a walk. I've been out three times since then. I walk a little, rest a little, and then walk a little more. That seems to be working well for me. I'm not having much pain except when one of my cats steps on me too close to a port site. I'm not taking anything other than Relafen (similar to Motrin but easier on the stomach) during the day.

I hope your surgery and recovery go really well, too.

Frances
