sore nipples?

Hi. I had TAH on 3/9 plus one ovary and tube removed. A couple of days ago I noticed my nipples aren't just tender they hurt! Is this from hormones or because I'm not wearing a bra as often? I hate sleeping in a bra so I don't wear one most of the day. I am so gratefull I found this board. Thanks and smooth healing.

I'm not sure, but it could be both or either. It is amazing how tender they can be when you aren't used to going without that protection. You might want to try wearing one for a couple of days and see if it gets better.
It also isn't at all abnormal for hormones to go a little crazy. If it continues you might want to ask your dr about it.

I remember this post-op symptom well too! I had extremely sore nipples too! I did wear a bra, so I think mine were caused from normal hormone fluctuations post-op. I also ended up having some minor hot flashes and night sweats after the breast issue improved. Things seem to be getting back to normal for me now! Finally! Good luck normaljeans, hang in there... this too shall pass!
