Re: Got a date Oct. 30 work is less than happy.

I talked with one of the owners of my company today and he said to take whatever time I need to recover, my being even sicker will not help the company. I told him my plans, 4 weeks planned if not better take longer, if feeling good take less. He said that sounded wise and he wished me a complete recovery. Feel sooooooo much better now.

Yes it is. Now I can focus on getting ready for the castle. Of course I have a lot of training to do so I can recover without constant calls.

Re: Got a date Oct. 30 work is less than happy.

Yeah...lots of panic around me being off too. I do a lot of regulatory stuff in my job to comply with federal regulations for aviation and it has taken me a year immersed fulltime to learn what I know so no one will be taking my place. My boss will pinch hit as required. He is so awesome and keeps telling me to take as much times as I need. I feel very lucky.

That is great I am so glad you decided to go higher up. I told them I would not take any calls when I was recovering. I know if I did I would not only get stress but end up working since I can do so from home.

all you need to do is file FMLA and have the doctor put 8-10 weeks you are allowed 12 under FMLA ... YOUR BOSS HAS NO SAY unless she owns the company but hey then if you really want to skin the cat you can sue her later ..... sounds to me like you need to do what is best for you and look for a new job while you are out! This is sad because your health comes first as im sure hers does to her ... hang in there hon! HUGS FROM ARIZONA SISTER

uggh what a horrid boss.... a. you don't owe her an explanation... b. words i've read here and are taking to heart. you get one chance to heal right... take the time you need... I know that first hand with foot surgery, supposed to be 8 weeks, came back in 6 days... kept rebraking fused bones, other complications.. next foot. stayed home 3 weeks.. better but 8 would be great and i worked for doctors at the time.... please take care of yourself!
