8 days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, my surgery is next week and I am really starting to stress, not about the surgery but what will happen to my family. They are used to me taking care of everything (which is fine usually with me). I am feeling tremendous guilt over having the surgery because I never take time out for me, they always come first with me, that's the way I want it too. I know there are a MILLION things I need to be doing but I don't want to do anything for some reason. I read this website all the time and it is so very helpful, I just can't get it in my head to do it. Please remember me in your prayers, I think I may have a breakdown before next Thursday gets here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi!

I understand how you are feeling! I rarely take time out for myself and I always put my family first...because I want to. Before my surgery I felt like I was headed toward a meltdown as I couldn't get into gear to get things done. I had to stop and do something nice for myself. Set aside some time for you. You could take a quiet walk alone, take a relaxing bath or listen to your favorite music or relaxation CDs. If you can afford to, get a massage. Just treat yourself to something just for you.

Best wishes for a successful surgery and a very uneventful recovery! I will keep you in my prayers! s

Deb

Hi, My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 17th. My kids are grown, so it's just my husband and me. Sometimes I don't feel like doing anything either. I am getting stressed too, as I've never had any kind of inpatient surgery, even though I am 57. I've had my hyst postponed twice already. My birthday is the 19th, so I hope I get discharged from the castle on that day. What kind of surgery are you having? I'm having a tvh with a & p repairs. Hope everything goes well for you.

Hugs and prayers. See you on the other side. Lois

tTHANKFUL05, I'm having a tvh. I'm really stressing because I have to go to my pre op visit tomorrow, they won't run it by my insurance until they have my lab results and I am terrified they will fight me on the surgery. I will be devastated if they tell me no, I can't go on like this and I know how funny insurance companies can be. You are in my prayers too, let me know how things go.
