Orgasm post-op

I know I shouldn't have since I am only a little over 2 weeks post op, but I had my first orgasm since surgery. (No penetration) And quite frankly--it sucked!!! I was so upset. The focal point of my orgasms has always been my uterus. Today it just felt empty and was not nearly as intense. Please tell me it gets better. I really do not want them to suck like this the rest of my life.

Re: Orgasm post-op

Hmmm. Maybe you need to try again. Mine were the same as they always were. You may need a little more of a buildup before climaxing. Like start, get close, then stop. Do that like 3 times and then let it out. See if that makes a difference.

Hope it gets better for you. :0)

Re: Orgasm post-op

Maybe you should wait until you are healed more before you try. I had one involuntarily during a dream and it was fine. I would like to try but I will wait until my 6 week mark before I do.

Heal well,

D

Re: Orgasm post-op

Hi Pink
One of my biggest fears was loosing my orgasm after the operation. I had a LSH on 18th May and am now 2 weeks post surgery. I have to say I have never felt better. I have had a few orgasms post surgery, and each one has been different. The most recent one has felt almost like the ones I had pre-surgery, so I am feeling quite optimistic. I think its just a slow process to getting the "O" back as our bodies heal. Dont give up hope!

Re: Orgasm post-op

Hi Jenn

Mine are manual stimulation (myself) i.e masturbation.
For me, the anxiety of not knowing if my orgasms would still work was really bothering me as I am a very sexual person. I feel very relieved to know they still work.
Will be waiting till 6 weeks post-op (and doctor clearance) to start thinking about actual intercourse - in fact the thought of it terrifies me! lol.

Re: Orgasm post-op

Thanks girls. I think I will give it more time and try again. My husband thought maybe it was because I was scared it would hurt.

2_N_Jenn it was manual stim.

Re: Orgasm post-op

I had an O at 3 weeks post op and cramped terribly. But... been having sex this week and if anything the wait has made them more intense and better.

Re: Orgasm post-op

I had an orgasm with the help of a hitachi personal massager yesterday (13 days post op) because I too was concerned how things might have changed after my surgery.

I had no pain, no cramping, no bleeding. I was told by a reliable source (a paramedic friend) that it shouldn't be an issue; but I wanted to see for myself since I had heard both sides of the coin.

I am happy to report that not only did I have one, it was better than before because there wasn't the worry of pain and pressure that I had before. Everything processed and worked as it did before.

I was afraid it would hurt, but then again, this past weekend I got an unexpected ride on a four wheeler, and if that didn't hurt/cause me issues, I couldn't see how an orgasm would.

I think that we can be controlled more by our thoughts and fears than by medicine. If you think it will hurt, it's going to take away from your enjoyment and not come to completion.

Try again, and instead of considering the pain, think about the positives and how good everything feels. Don't give up and don't lose hope. Things can be not only back to normal, but better than before.

Re: Orgasm post-op

Be patient. Part of the problem could be that in the back of your mind, you are afraid of causing damage. If you wait till you are healed, that won't be an issue. It takes time for all anesthesia & pain meds to get out of your system, too. That can be causing a little bit of the flatness. It does get better, just don't try to rush it. High expectations can burn a good O, even without the surgery.
