Anyone ever had LAHV and not stay in hospital?

I finally have my LAHV scheduled for next Tuesday, March 2st. Pre op is this Wednesday. Just wondering, has anyone ever had an LAHV and not had to stay in the hospital overnight?

I am nervous, but ready to get rid of this pain. Cyst in ovary, fibroids and adenomyosis.

Thanks for any info you can offer.

Anyone ever had LAHV and not stay in hospital?

Had a TLH and left about 7 hours after getting in my room. They wanted me to stay overnight but I was having a horrible experience with the nurses. Most people have a great hospital experience so don't go on mine.

Anyone ever had LAHV and not stay in hospital?

I had a LAVH at 7 am and went home the next day at noon..Thank goodness because I wanted to be at home in my bed where they didn't wake you every hour to check your BP. I felt so much better in my own surroundings. Good Luck

How did surgery go?

Anyone ever had LAHV and not stay in hospital?

Surgery went great. I have had very little pain. The most pain I experienced was in my lower back immediatIy post op. For a TLH you are on a table that pretty much upside down (head first) throughout the surgery. Once I was able to stand and sit it went away. I was discouraged that I felt bad the 2nd week. After reading what everyone said on this site I realized this was normal. My biggest complaint is the bowels. I am in my 4th week and still have major cramping before a bm. This is a common complaint also. I go in for my post-op Wed. and hoped to be released.

Good luck to you with your surgery. I know you will be so grateful that you didn't have to have and abdominal incision. My regular gyn had to refer me out to a lap specialist and I have to wait 2 months but it was well worth it. Let me know how you are doing after surgery or before.

Kim123- You and I are going in on the same day! I was originally scheduled for a TAH/BSO but switched doctors and now am having a LAVH/BSO with cystocele repair and the surgery stayed on the same day-different hospitals. I was told that I would be admitted following surgery and stay 23 hours barring complications. However, my surgery is at 10:30 am and I was told will take at least 31/2 hours so at best I wouldn't go home until the next afternoon. I also have a bleeding disorder (blood doesn't clot) and have to be medicated for this and may have to stay longer because the medication has its own nasty side effects (migraine headaches and severe water retention). When I had a trial dose I gained 6 pounds in water overnight and didn't pee for a day. I'm afraid that with the cystocele repair, I won't be able to go. Good Luck and I'll be praying for you as well as me as they wheel me in!

A word of caution. They were giving Lovenex (blood thinning) shots to everyone. Both of my roommates said they were bleeders after they realized they got the blood thinner shot. Just ask before they give you any shots!
