pre-op prep

Ladies just wanted to tell someone about a great idea ........ I myself don't go to a church but my sister does and I just found out that the ladies sunday school class has got together and each night for a week after my surgery they are going to be dropping dinner off for my family.... These ladies are great but I thought this was a great Idea and a big load off my mine as well....

Lucky you! I think that people can really be helpful when they know that someone needs it.

Now you can concentrate on your surgery and being a good princess.

Best wishes.

I too was very blessed by my "church family" as well as friends. My meals just stopped and I had my surgery almost 2 weeks ago. Another tip that has been helpful, I prepared casseroles, put together meatloaf, soups....and put them in the freezer a few weeks before my surgery. I have at least 1-1 1/2 weeks worth of meals in the freezer where all I have to do is pull one out, defrost and cook/warm up. I am now able to make a salad or easy veggie, but not quite up to preparing a whole meal as I still seem to get tired quite easily.

Anything you can do ahead of time will help you afterwards...I have not heard of many who were completely healed and back to themselves at 2-3 weeks post op, so any preparations you can make will ease your recovery later. Also, maybe your family members could pull something from the freezer and put it in the oven even if they don't know how to cook. It will be a worry off your mind to know you don't HAVE to try to get up and cook meals before you feel ready to do so.

Please try not to be nervous...That's easy for me to say--I'm a princess now, but really, it will be over before you know it. I tried to stay VERY busy right up until the surgery so I could not dwell on it too much.

Best wishes to you!!!!
