How Many Of You Tried Ablation First?

For me, the ablation was like a band-aid that worked only a short time. Although recovery from it was QUICK, after a few months I was having 2 periods a month again. It doesn't hurt to try, and everyone of us is different. Good luck. Harp2

Hi, I had an Endometrial Ablation in April 2004,to treat severely heavy bleeding and pain. For a few months it was incredibly sucessfull and I felt great. Unfortunately 6 months ago the excrutiating pain returned often rendering me incapable of functioning normally for up to 1 1/2 days. My Gyneacologist has decided to perform a full abdominal Hystorectomy & it's scheduled for September 20th. I'd like to wish anyone planning any form of ablation the very best of luck and a hug.

Hi..............I had an "attempted" balloon ablation in October 2004. My uterus was too large for the balloon to cover, plus one large fibroid was in the way so my DR didn't feel it was successful. However, since that time I have had only one very slight week of bleeding, if you want to even call it that. The flip side to not having any more periods is that the one troublesome fibroid is growing with no signs of stopping and it appears I will eventually wind up with a hysterectomy anyway. I'm still glad I tried the ablation first.............such a simple procedure and recovery!!! Best of luck to you!!!
