Almost time to go

I just packed my bag for my stay in the hospital. I'm also packing 3 separate diaper bags for my father-in-law...one for each day. Anything to keep me busy!
I'm just a bundle of nerves! I have to be at the hospital at 6:15 on Monday morning and I just hope I can get some sleep. I'm not scared, but I am a bit nervous about leavnig my 12 month old. Okay, maybe I'm a little scared. I have faith that all will be okay, though. The one thing that freaks me out is the hormone thing. Mine have been unbalanced for some time, but I'm dreading the trial and error of hormone replacement. Any advice?

Almost time to go

I just wanted to say good luck with your surgery! I had my hysterectomy (complete) in Jan. 2005, I've not taken any HRT and so far so good.

Almost time to go

Hello Sherlock,
I was hormonally unbalanced (actually periminopausal) before my TAH, but didn't start HRT until after the surgery. I have felt better than I have in years since starting HRT, of course part might be just the surgery itself, but alot is due to the hormones. Biggest suggestion I have for you is to find a doctor that will work with you on hormone replacement and listen to you...and to be proactive with finding the right balance. Starting out with estrogen, getting the right dosage and then adding other hormones if necessary. Goodluck Monday...the waiting is the hardest part and you've almost got that behind you now.

Almost time to go

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and prayers. I do have a great doctor who really listens to me. He told me that he truly believes that women are "tuned in" to their bodies and he takes any feelings or intuitions very seriously. Thanks again to everyone! This site has been such a blessing! I plan to upgrade my membership soon!

You are all in thoughts and prayers!
