LAVH 8 days post-hysterectomy, blood clots in urine

I'm a week and a day post-op, and am concerned about bleeding. On day 4, my spotting had reached a point where it was a very light pink and almost non-existent. Then suddenly that night, it became a little heavier and bright red again. While its not any more than spotting still, it is a little bit heavier, and now there are clots in the toilet when I urinate. I was diagnosed with a UTI on day 4 that I didn't start taking antibiotics for till yesterday...I don't know if that has anything to do with it. There's no pain with this...in fact, my pain level has improved to the point of minor discomfort. Has anyone else experienced this?

My dr said call immediately if there is any free flowing blood in urine. I would think clot is okay but wouldn't hurt to place a call. Better safe than sorry

I over did it with activity a week ago tomorrow which caused fresh blood and come clots to come out. I called my doc/nurse and the advice was to rest, watch the bleeding/clots. If I soaked a pad within an hour or passed another clot bigger than a quarter, then I needed to call. I ended up checking a few times that day just to be safe.

With having a UTI that you are treating it couldn't hurt to call and check in.

I got up this morning and had my first "bladder voiding" (as they called it in the hospital) without any clots. There was one or two teeny tiny specks of clots, but nothing like I was experiencing. I've been trying to take it easy as well. I'm not sure how much easier I can take it....I only get up when I have to. I hope that this morning's "void" is the beginning of the end to it.
