Yeah I was told 4 weeks of help. I think it's because I have a 1 year old that obviously needs lifted a lot. I can't put him in bed for his nap, can't get him up out of his crib, can't put him on a changing table, etc. It's going to be really hard to not pick him up!!

I'm having a LaVH on 3/22. Gyn won't say more than 'less hospital time maybe same day release.' Primary doctor on the other hand says in and out in half a day.

I had my TLH on 3/17. We arrived at 8 am and were back home before 5 pm. I had all but one ovary removed. It was scary at the time but has been fine. Trust your doctor who knows his routine, your body, his expectations and his hospital. The hospital staff will do what he says. So, only his option matters.
The fear of surgery was by far the worst part of my experience! I swear I felt better as soon I was awake. I have seven kids, six still at home. So, this was a concern for me as well. My husband has taken two weeks off to help. I hope that will be enough. I think it will be. It has to be! So, it will be . I could not have taken care of them up to this point- 5 days post op. Be sure you have help at home. You are going to feel better but be completely worn out. I could hardly stay awake at all the first day or two.
The only things I took to the hospital were my purse and my tummy pillow. I wish I had left a blanket in the car. It took days to warm back up! In the car I had my heat at 80 and my husband had his in the 60's somewhere. He gave me his coat but I was still cold.

Yeah...I wasn't so much worried about the surgery...just coming home to 3 little kids lol.

But it's looking good now. We have a place for my 5 year old and 4 year old to stay the night and just my 18 month old will be home with us. That will be really easy for hubby to handle.
