Saw colorectal surgeon - good news
Hi again ... some of you know this, but I'm scheduled to have a TVH (for prolapse and hyperplasia) w/cystocele repair at same time for a rectal rectocele repair and colonoscopy on April 10. Meanwhile, things got scary, and I wasn't sure all the problems had been discovered / diagnosed ...
I have had very severe pain with bowel movements, and was convinced it wasn't just from the mild rectocele but that it was a true colo-rectal prolapse. However, I learned that I'd misunderstood him ... he'd written down that I have a deep rectocele (not at all a mild one) and a very weak rectal-vaginal septum. He could see both the rectocele bulging clear into my vagina and the continually dropping cervix bulging into my rectum ... and the pain I was having was when it irritated my swollen, low cervix through that very thin wall. He also examined me on my theory, and informed me that it's still strong and attached !!!
Like some others, I had to keep at it after having a "well-respected" doctor abuse me to find the great doctors I have ... most of them are wonderful, caring people. The "other ones" unfortunately can do alot of harm, so don't accept abuse. My doc's kindness and thoroughness today reaffirmed that for me - and relieved alot of anxiety.
Thank you all for your support. Waiting is so much easier with all of you, and you're always here when one of us has a wait-mare. You gently wake us up and hold us, and remind us that we're home. God bless you.
