6 Week Post Hysterectomy Check Up Examination?

Hi all, I am 6 weeks post TAH today. I saw my surgeon last Friday for post op appointment and at first she was reading my old notes and asked if I wanted a MYRENA inserted!?! When I told her I was there for my post HYSTERECTOMY appointment she looked up my info and said oh yes that was a very hard operation you had a very large uterus that was attached to your bladder with scar tissue, you had a large fibroid in your uterus and a cyst in your cervix... Now I know why I have had so many issues!!!
She then said how is your pain? I said it still lets me know if I've over done it . So she suggested no heavy lifting still for 2 weeks.
That was my appointment! No check of my incision, no pelvic check, absolutely nothing!!! Is this normal? She said I can drive again so I started and it is still a bit uncomfortable with bumps and corners.
A bit anxious as nothing has been checked

My doctor did an internal exam at two week appt and said everything looked great no need to see her again. I thought that was odd and scheduled a 6 wk checkup to make sure cuff was healing ok before resuming bedroom activities! So i would have been asked to be checked out.

I have my 6 week checkup on thurs , and he said he'd do a vaginal Exam . My boss really wants me to return to work Friday ! I was planning for Monday but now I don't know what to do . This really sucks cause I know I am physically able but I really don't want to . Who else feels this way ?

I return tomorrow, I'm a bit nervous but happy it is a 3 day week instead of five!

Thank you for your reply. I think I will get checked out. Just doesn't feel right without someone making sure all ok!

I hope you feel better soon. I don't know what happened earlier when I was trying to post lol. Well even though I really want to wait till Monday to return to work , I may as well bite the bullet. That means working Friday & Saturday and Monday . I guess it's better then laying around.

I had a TAH due to uterine fibroids. My uterus suddenly enlarged so I said enough! It was 1697 grams. I had a 2 week exam. Checked incision & discussed surgery & pathology report. 6 week appt, my Dr did an internal exam & then reviewed restrictions. I suggest call & talk to the nurse ask what is the normal procedure post op & that youd feel better having a physical exam.
