Anyone else having surgery 1/20 or only scheduled for one day in hospital?

I have cooked and froze ahead. Got myself a new, knee length nightie at Ross's. And at Penny's, a light, pink, snap up bathrobe. I thought that might be easier. I am trying to concentrate on getting ready so I don't concentrate on being scared. I live in a tri level. I have a small refrigerator, at work I think I will bring home and put in the upstair bedroom, part of my house. How about any of you? Norskyll

I'm scheduled for a TVH on 20 Jan also. I'm in Germany and they told me to plan on staying 7 days! Plus they are admitting me on the 19th for all the pre-op stuff and then are keeping me over night.

Guess it all depends on your doc and the system you are in!

Good luck to all my Princess-sisters whose reigns begin on 20 Jan!

As of now, I am only scheduled to be in the hospital overnight for a LAVH. I'm hoping that doesn't change! Sending lots of good luck wishes to you.

Anyone else having surgery 1/20 or only scheduled for one day in hospital?

I just came back from my pre-op and I am really psyched! I thought I would be out of work for 6 weeks but doc told me if everything goes as planned ( I am having laparoscopic surgery with removal of uterus and cervix) I can go back to work in 3 weeks , drive at 1 week, and he told me I should have no problem climbing stairs! I am thinking on the postive side and praying that this will be my stiuation. For all you gals having surgery this week, I have and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Keep us informed on how everything goes.

Hey Norskyll,
I have frozen 2 dinners for my family so far and will probably freeze 1 0r 2 more before friday. My hubby bought a MP3 player last month and he is letting me borrow it . I am a light sleeper so he has downloaded some soothing music (mainly jazz) for me to listen to so hopefully it will help me to sleep. As for P.j's I bought some really soft baggy pajama pants from old navy and will probably wear a baggy tee with it. I don't know whether to pack anything different to wear home though because I have to leave the surgery center a 5:00 in the morning the next day and travel an hour home.

I had the exact surgery you are having with the exception that I had a cystocele repair. When I went to my 2 week check, my dr released me to drive and told me I could go back to work when I felt like it. I delayed until 4 weeks simply because I could work from home and did not want to deal with the stress of the office. I went back to the office at 4 weeks and it has been okay. I was tired and hurt the first 2 days back but was fine by the 3rd day. I say "go for it if you feel up to it, but do listen to your body." Good luck.
