Need help with Bowel Prep

Started bowel prep four hours ago, and I have literally lived in the bathroom. Overflowed both toilets, and I don't know what to do now. Called hubby crying, and I have an enema scheduled for 7pm , whoowee.

Is there any help to get through this, and now I find out my surgery is at 1:30pm tommorrow, and I stop eating at midnight, been on a liquid diet since noon today.

Does anyone know if I can have hard candies, butterscotch, lifesavers, etc...or even egg drop soup??

A liquid diet means that you can see through what you're eating, so clear broth(no egg!), jello, clear drinks such as tea without milk. If you're concerned about energy, you could try clear Gatorade. I'd stay away from candies 'cause they can make your blood sugar levels bounce and you can feel hungrier. Try chewing gum....

{{spinflyer}} is correct. Clear liquids are just exactly that. You might want to stay away from red jello too. I was told nothing red. I am supposing because of the dye. If your dr says nothing after midnight then make sure you stick to that. It is very important that you have nothing in your tummy. Good Luck with your surgery. s to you

Doc said ok to egg drog soup, no to candy, and I believe you might be right, re:red jello,I made strawberry banana jello, and it killed me going out , same thing with red gatorade, so now, it's just water, and Doc said to have the soup and then do the enema. Enema scheduled for 7pm, so going to have the soup soon, and then.....in all honesty, I don't know how to do this enema thing, and if I should do it in the shower, lay down, over the toilet, really not too much info on the box, just where it goes and how to lay down....This should be the last thing to go through, Surgery is scheduled for 1:30 tommorrow, and I have to be their at 10:30, so I'll have some time in the am to finish up a few last minute things, getting nervous again, but dh should be home soon, and I always feel so much better when he is around.
