After my TAH surgery, how long will it be before I can take a bubble bath? (I'm not a big fan of showers. I really love my hot soak in the tub.)
Thanks,
Lisa

Bath
HI, Lisa, :wave
This is a question only your doctor can answer, because all doctors seem to have different ideas about baths. My doctor told me to wait two weeks, but other ladies have been told to wait as long as six to eight weeks, for a bath or hot tub. So give your doctor a call, for the right answer for you.
Best wishes,
Helen

Hi Lisa,
That was also one of my concerns as i love luxuriating in the tub. To be quite honest I didn't really miss it for the first couple of weeks, I think I would have found it too difficult to climb in and out. I was cleared at 2 weeks only after my doc was sure I could get in and out without problem. However many other women seem to have to wait until 6 weeks.
So, check with your doc, will also depend on how you heal.
Good luck
Debbie

Bubble bath -- ooh makes me want one. I'm 6 weeks post op and have trouble with the incision healing so I'm still limited to showers. Let me tell you, I sure regret not taking a wonderful bubble bath before my surgery! And as soon as I can, I'm gonna take one.

Yes...each doctor has their own ideas about this one. Check with your own doc and find out for sure!
And I agree....a nice hot soak is a necessary requirement for pre-op relaxation!!!!
