Granulation?

I have had severe odor and spotting for two weeks. Doctor was finally able to see me and I was told I had granulation and that is it. I read the article posted on this site but I would like to know if anyone has had to have surgery to remove the scar tissue because of ineffective nitrate procedures. The doctor did not even tell me what he was dong. The only reason I knew was because of this site.

Thanks to everyone who posts.

Re: Granulation?

Hi!

I had granulation tissue all along my vaginal cuff. My doctor initially treated it with silver nitrate but was doubtful that the treatment would be sufficient to get rid of the granulation tissue. Unfortunately, he was right and it did require a minor surgical procedure, done in the doctor's office, to remove it. He numbed the cuff first and that was the most painful part of the procedure. Afterward he applied some silver nitrate and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. It took a few more silver nitrate treatments before the area finally healed.

I hope you have better luck than I did and that silver nitrate alone will be all that's needed to treat your granulation tissue.

Best wishes as you continue to heal!

P. S. - For anyone who is curious about granulation tissue and silver nitrate, here's a link to the article that (((tapiash1))) read: Vaginal Cuff Granulation – Silver Nitrate – Cauterization.
