Re: I'm scared

Evie.K,

I just wanted to let you know that everything will surely be alright - hey, it's going to be better than alright. I went through the same surgery August of last year and I was, just like you, scared. You're going to be fine. You will get through it, and before you know it you'll be as good as new. Make sure that you get plenty of rest and take it easy as much as possible so that you can heal properly. Remember, don't let people tell you when you're ready to get back to a normal way of doing things (listen to your body). Take your time and know your limits. Also, remember your sisters here. The women here helped me through a critical time in my life. They were there for me when I needed someone who knew exactly what I was going through.

Re: I'm scared

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. I am ready to get past the surgery and recovered. I will repay the encouragement I have received here.

Re: I'm scared

hi Evie - Im going to do the same as you when I am over this Im not going to lose this site. These fellow women have been so wonderful - with empathy and encourgement so I do not feel so alone. (men can only understand to a certain extent - it's not their fault).
Im scheduled for TLH on Dec 14th and like you I am TERRIFIED. But my heart and head is already thinking "but it will be worth it - do you want to continue to live in pain 24/7"? That is what gets me through this waiting game.
I don't recover quickly from surgery either and I will be good to myself afterwards and take it very easy. I won't care if my house looks like world war 2 - and I won't care if the washing doesn't get done on time.
The most important thing we can do for ourselves (and our loved ones) - is to recover at our own pace and thus better.
In the meantime when I have a bit of less pain Im shopping for a nice new summer robe for the castle (it's summer here in Australia) - some lovely new hand and nail cream, putting a "relax playlist" on my Ipod and journalling a lot ( so MANY emotions). My other half works interstate so we only see each other on weekends and this is real hard at the moment. But he's loving and understands my fears - but I don't want to "bug him" too much about it. (he's so busy at work).
Trust me - I am every single bit as terrified as you (if not more) - but I have a nice feeling in a few months time we'll be toasting with champagne and saying "why did we fear this so very much"
Hug and love... Susan.
