Is it weird that my post-op appointment isn't till 6 wks out?

I would want to see the doctor to be cleared before I went back to work but I guess you don't have to. I had an appointment at 2 weeks & then at the 8 weeks. Best wishes.

Thanks for all the responses ladies! It sounds like I am not the only one with a 6 week appointment, so that makes me feel better. I haven't really had any problems, except constipation and after my long walk at 1 week post-op, some pain. I took care of that with Tylenol 3 that I had left over from my myomectomy. Of course that exacerbated the constipation, but oh well! Can't win. I guess I'm just glad I'm feeling mostly good. I did get my pathology report in the mail and it said all is well, so that is good.

Both my post op appointments (GYN and Urologist) are at 6 weeks. If I can't shake this crazy yeast infection, tho, I will be seeing the GYN next week!

You're right, tho, I wouldn't go back to work without seeing them first!

My follow-up was at 6wks. If you plan on going back to work I would call and see if they could move it up. I don't think that I would feel comfortable going back without seeing the doc. When I went back for 6wks check up I felt great but he put me off a bit more to allow my cuff to finish healing.

I saw my dr after 6 days to remove staples and check incision. Then again at 6 weeks. I would think that if there were no complications during surgery and your recovery is going smoothly that 6 weeks would be the norm.

i stayed in hospital 4 days then was given appt for 6 weeks but was away so made appt for 7 weeks, was concerned i may have slight prolapse at 5 wks so phoned and was seen immediately ( i didn't have prolapse) he said all fine, then i saw him as arranged at 7 wks. i think they will see you if you are concerned before 6 wks

My doc said unless I had questions or something went wrong, he didn't need to see me until six weeks (which is this upcoming Tuesday 12/30). I had a LAVH. I think with abdominal incisions they have to see you sooner to remove stitches/staples. I think it varies from doctor to doctor!

My Uro-gynecologist wants to see me 6-8 weeks after surgery and I had the works done to my body. (vaginal hyst, bladder sling, cystocele, anterior and posterior repair). Your situation prob not unusual.

i went at 2 weeks and again a few days before 6 weeks . even at that she sent my work a paper that said off till the 19th which would be the full 6 weeks.Seems every doctor is very different.
