3 weeks post hysterectomy: rampant emotions

Post op (DaVinci robotic surgery 1/22)- I have been lucky and have had minimal complications. Pain meds only 2 days the rest manageable with Tylenol and ibuprofen. I walk regularly, and have driven, I tire easily and feel like my emotions are all out of wack and difficult both to manage and to get others to understand.
My kids tell me I scream thorough the night, off and on, rarely sleep through the night and just feel overly sensitive. Post op consult on 2/19 and I hope to find out if I need radiation to complete my treatment. Then I hope to return to work. All this said, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Jus

I'm new here, and am learning myself, but I noticed just 4 or 5 days in that I was having moodiness and sensitivity....as well as skin breakouts. I was pretty sure this was all related to the hormonal disruption caused by the shock of the surgery. Are you going to take HRT? Maybe there is something your doctor can recommend to you to help ease your (or your family's) suffering. Otherwise, you might want to try some meditation (self-guided, or through the many self-help resources in books, audio sources, or even Youtube) or other relaxation strategies to help center your mind a bit. And above all, be tolerant of yourself during this time of change....
