TAH: Heading to the Castle for my TAH/Tube Removal-Surgery at 8am Sharp Tomorrow!!

Hi Ladies & ,
Well my day has finally came and this time tomorrow I will be in the Castle!!! I am the 1st surgery scheduled tomorrow at 8:00am and I am not as scared today as I thought I would be. I am nervous about all the needles and the operation. My mom and hubby will be there with me !

I stripped my bed today and did some cleaning and I had soup and also had some cookies I made last night as my dinner. In a couple of hours I plan on doing an Enima to wash it all out and then if I get hungry I will just have some jello.

I still have my bags to pack and wondered, Do I need to pack underwear?? I know thats an odd question but I wasn't sure if they would allow me to wear any in the Hospital. I have read that some bleed/spot aftwards so undies would make sense . I sure hope I sleep tonight but if not, I will be sleeping for hours tomorrow!

I will see you ladies on the other side and will let you know how I am doing,I wish I had a Laptop but all I have is a Blackberry so I hope I will be able to post from it. Thanks for all your kindness, help and support!!!

Best of luck tomorrow! My prayers for a quick recovery. As for the "undies" I would pack atleast 1 pair. Better safe than sorry I am not planning on staying overnight but I have a bag packed just in case with 3 pairs of undies in it.


Just incase: did you read the earlier thread about what to take to the hospital with you? I learned a lot from that thread.

Good Luck tomorrow! I have to be at the hospital at 730am Im the second surgery! It will be awesome no more pain after this! Im nercvous too and a little cranky but staying positive remember to drink lots of water afterward!

Ive been drinking water most of today but I decided NOT to do the Enima since my Dr didn't order the Bowel Prep but I bought an Enima just in case so I hope that it will not matter either way. Just didn't feel like putting myself through that since I am nervous enough as it is. Thanks for the well wishes and best of luck Kt

I had my TAH Nov. 1 and I did use panties. There can be some bleeding, they used a pad under my bottom for the first night. You may also want to bring some of your own pads, I only needed liners for a couple days. They are also helpful to put over your incision and attached to your undies on the inside if you happen to have some leakage. My dr told me about using them for that but I didn't need to. Hi ladies and friens,I am now a princess! I had my TAH/Tube removal yesterday.So this is how it started,after we got here we went to to the same day surgery area and I was called back fast and the drew my blood then we went to my little room were I put on my gown and leg warmers hooked to heat for bloodclot prevention.My 2nd needle stick was a bloodclot shot to my belly,It wasn't as bad as I thought the medicine burnt.Then they stuck me with a small needle to deaden the area they put the IV and that was a godsend for me cause I didn't feel it! I woke up with a morphine pump and still on it.I am doing good so far and will be up walking sometime today. I am bleeding quite a bit and my cath is still in. Thank u sisters for everything! I will post more updates
