2 months post hysterectomy: feeling really low- still bleeding

Im sorry for venting but im tired ,sore and fed up of bleeding. Im on my 2nd lot of antibiotics- 8 of 10 days now and im still bleeding. Swabs said there was a bug thats why I first went on antibiotics... that stopped the bleeding then bam 2 weeks later im bleeding again..this time the antibiotics arent working. Does anyone have any experience on this? Should I go back to my docs? Im not bleeding as heavy now, just when wiping or on lil bit on pantyliner and its either brown string or fresh red drops. And I have stabbing pains every now again - up there (sorry tmi) please help. Any advice?

Re: feeling really low

Sorry, I haven't experienced this but I would go back to your GP asap....not because it sounds like it's an emergency (I am not a Dr!) but because it's obviously gone on for a while and crucially it's obviously very wearing and upsetting for you. When we have a hysterectomy, although we aren't usually under any illusions that it's going to be easy, we do hope for things to be settled afterwards...leaving all of this bleeding malarkey behind.

Has your gynae consultant signed you off? Sounds to me like the GP should be referring you back to the consultant if you have been signed off?

Venting is good by the way....!

Hope it is sorted out soon for you

Thankyou. Gyne doesnt want to see me for another 4 month because my bladder still isnt working properly (he thought the op would help) but this was when I was on first lot of antibiotics and he was sure they would work. I have read stories of ladies still bleeding at this point but they arnt good so its worrying. I saw my doc 8 days ago for the bleeding /cramps and he just put me straight bk on antibiotics saying I must still have a bug in cervix. He said itl defo stop my bleeding and he doesnt want to see me for 4 weeks and to just put my feet up but it isnt helping at all. If I go bk to see him he might get annoyed because he said 4 weeks ...

Re: 2 months post hysterectomy: feeling really low- still bleeding

He has no right to get annoyed, he's got a job to do! I am 7 weeks post op TAH luckily I had no bleeding, but what your experiencing I certainly wouldn't be happy with. sounds like if nothing else you need to be reassured that what they are telling you is correct. If your uneasy going to the same dr can you not ask to see a different one? Hope you feel better soon. x

Thankyou. I think il go see a different doctor tomorrow. Im not happy with the 'it must still be the bug' statement. He didnt check me so how does he know? At the same time if it was something really bad I guess id be in alot of pain or have a fever.. im not sure. Just feeling low.
