Alergic reactions

Good Morning Sisters
I have a strange question. Has anyone developed allergies to anything they have not previously been allergic to?? I love Bath and Body Works body wash, lotions, and body sprays. mainly Moonlight Path and White Citrus. Saturday I went to a family wedding and used the Moonlight Path products, and started itching by Sat night. by Sunday morning, I am all rash from neck to tops of thighs, and itchy as he77. I have also developed a reaction to Neosporin, and my deodorant. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance

Re: Alergic reactions

I haven't but my husband had major surgery followed by 6 months of chemo and that made him allergic to things he wasn't previously. Have you had treatments?

Re: Alergic reactions

Not that I have noticed with regard to body products, but I have come away from the last surgery with a new allergy to one of the anaesthetic drugs! I'm now five days into an eight day high dose steroid course to try and knock it down again.

For the moment I would suggest not using anything perfumed on your skin, wash with water and a gentle soap like dove, and use simple emollients to moisturise until your skin settles down. While it is reactive it is more likely to develop new reactions to things, so keeping it simple is key.

An antihistamine should help to bring the itchies under control too, with hydrocortisone 1% on any major itchy patches (not on your face though).

Re: Alergic reactions

I thought I was the only person that had worse allergies after my hysterectomy! I am even more allergic to soap, anything with perfume in it, I can only wear one kind of perfume. Just remember that your not alone in this.

Re: Alergic reactions

I feel your pain! My skin is a wreck since my surgery. Had a steroid shot last week to stop the terrible itching and rash and had blessed relief for 6 days. I can feel my skin getting itchy today again though so I'm not sure what the next step will be. You aren't alone!
