Re: silly question...will i bleed afterwards?

Not silly at all!!!

My ablation meant no feminine products for me for two years. However, my hysterectomy DID cause enough spotting and fluids to require pads. I wasn't prepared but luckily there is a teen in the house. I am week four and still spotting.

Wishing you health and peace in your adventure.

Re: silly question...will i bleed afterwards?

I had an abdominal hysterectomy in September and I had no bleeding or discharge of any kind. I had ablation surgery 4 years ago and started bleeding again which was the reason for the surgery. I've haven't had any discharge or bleeding since the surgery.

Iricher, I don't remember discharge after my ablation.

Lizzie, that is great! I assumed most everyone had some after my experience and all the posts here. Especially since they put pads on me right out of surgery. My bad.

Re: silly question...will i bleed afterwards?

I had blood the first time I went to the bathroom after the surgery. Then I had a pink discharge for a bit longer than a week. The pink discharge was on the toilet paper only, it wasn't enough to go on the panty liner. Everyone is different so you can't really know until you have the surgery.

OMG yes it was terrible- it probley started really bad on day 3- and then for a FULL 6 weeks. I mean LOTS of clear discharge that required a pad and 5 days of period in there.
so i hope that it isn't too bad after the surgery.

Re: silly question...will i bleed afterwards?

I had a TVH and had no bleeding at all. I wore a liner just in case the first week post-op but didn't need it.

Re: silly question...will i bleed afterwards?

I guess everyone is different. I'm 16 days post op and I'm still having a light discharge. Some days just heavy spotting, other days a little more than that.

Perhaps you'll be one of the lucky ones that skip this part of recovery!
