Anyone have too much bleeding with a myomectomy?

Anyone have too much bleeding during or after their myomectomy? I'm worried about bleeding too much... and was it a laprascopic or an ab. procedure.

Re: to much bleeding with a myomectomy

Hi, I had a myomectomy with a full abdominal incision - 6 inches or so vertical.

My doctor was very cautious and had me bank blood just in case, but I had minimal bleeding and the blood was discarded.

My understanding is that the bleeding for a myomectomy or TAH is of course a little more than with robotics, etc. since you have a larger incision, but it's really not significant unless you have unusual complications.

I had no issues whatsoever.

Good luck!

still in pain post myomectomy

I just had my laprascopic myomectomy last Tuesday the 10th and I'm still in pain and very uncomfortable. Taking my pain medicine around the clock but still have so much pain. Anyone have this... when will this all stop ... I thought having a laprascopic procedure would be less invasive but it doesn't seem that way at all. Anyone know when I will feel better. They removed 8 large fibroids and a cyst on my ovary.

Re: still in pain

Hey, you had a lot of work done, it takes time for the body to recover from all that! I had a myomectomy and was in pain for a good 10 days, and only had 3 fibroids removed. Keep taking the pills and put your feet up and RELAX! You'll feel better soon!
All the best,
Christina

Re: still in pain

Hi,

I was on percocet for a full 2 weeks after my myomectomy before switching to ibuprofen. I agree with Steena - give yourself time to recover. Even though the incision is laparascopic, you had a lot of work done inside that still has to heal.

Best wishes.
