Can you sleep on your stomach or no?

Hi Ladies,

I am 12 days Post Op(kept both ovaries). I'm a serious stomach sleeper. Insomnia is driving me wild and I can't take the side sleeping. It makes me uncomfortable, plus my insides moan and make noises like dinosaurs lol ( I'm sure it's the never ending gas!). Anyway, my doctor has not said not to, but is anyone sleeping on their stomach? I'm nervous it will hurt something.

Thoughts???

Re: Can you sleep on your stomach or no?

I sleep in side/stomache combo but wedge a pillow at my belly. I don't always need the pillow but am getting accustomed to it and may continue using it. I gradually was able to sleep more in this combo as I got better. I started doing it right when I got home but the first week and a half I wasn't completely in that position and the pillow had to be wedged really good to support my tummy. Try wedging a pillow it might help you like it has me.

I could only deal with it 2 weeks and started sleeping on my stomach again. If it got to uncomfortable, I went back to my side. No problems here.

Re: Can you sleep on your stomach or no?

I am going to try the pillow wedge. That's a great suggestion. I rolled on to my tummy 3 days ago and the squishy ness freaked me out a bit. I just wasn't sure if it was safe. Hopefully with the pillow wedge idea I will get some decent sleep and maybe it will run these insane gas bubbles out!
Thanks Ladies!

Re: Can you sleep on your stomach or no?

I wish I was to the point of being ready. I'm struggling to just roll onto my side to give my husband a kiss.. Maybe in the next few days that will change, cause I am ready to be back on my side/stomach.

Re: Can you sleep on your stomach or no?

Thanks Ldon!!! I know it's coming, I also had other work done (3 hernia repairs and a semi tummy tuck) all at the same time, and while every day I feel a little better, I'm just ready. Lol! Although I did manage to lay on my left side for about 20 minutes today, when just night before last it hurt too much!
