Herbal Supps for Insomnia?

A combo of valerian and melatonin works for me. I also have a fan blowing on me at night so when I get those wonderful night sweats I cool down quickly.

I couldn't believe how nasty Valerian smells. I had to travel recently and had some in a ziploc bag; I could smell it though the bag!

Herbal Supps for Insomnia?

Yeah, the smell of that stuff is unmistakable.

We do have a ceiling fan that is on high, and our AC is set at 64. It is 1:30 and I went to bed at 10:30 and I've already woke up 4 times... This last time though, I am so wet, I had to change pj's. I should jump in the shower, I don't want to wake everyone though. I may not have a choice tho'. I am that hot!

Herbal Supps for Insomnia?

Oh, I am so glad to have found this thread!! I just had surgery on July 18th, and sleeping since I've been home is awful! Last night our a/c was having problems so I thought it was just that, even though I had a fan blowing on me all night. But tonight - the a/c is just fine, it's nice and cool in our room and I have been awake for over 2 hours now!

I finally got up to play on here instead of just tossing and turning in the bed and messing up DH too.

I also have a slight headache and still lots of gas pain which isn't helping.

Guess I'll send DH out today for some sort of herbal supp. I used to take Valerian all the time and it helped a ton - I hope it still will. I think I will try a Valerian/Melatonin combo. Here's hoping!

I don't do well on lost sleep at all. It really makes me more emotional and I'm struggling with a little depression and that makes it worse. So I really need to find a solution, so I'm not grumpy all day.
