It's all done

Hi everyone I had my full abdominal hysterectomy (sorry dont know all the abbreviasions)on 24th April and have to say the fear before was immense, I would also like to add that I live in France and my French is very limited so more added stress, I know everyone says try not to worry but honestly it really isn't as bad as your imagination lets you think. I was beside myself and was worried about just about everything, had to stay in for 5 days that's how it is here and the staff were brilliant and we got by noises or pictures if we couldn't understand each other, did have a huge amount of gas which had no problem passing had one night when I got the gas pain in my shoulders wow that was painful but all in all everything went really well, my next worry was having the staples out, it didn't help that when a friend visited told me how they had to hold down her daughter when she had to have some taken out after a riding accident I was petrified I had 18 staples, before I left hospital yesterday they said they were going to take every other staple out before I left oh melt down the nurse came in and said it will be fine, she had taken 4 out before I even realised she had started, have to go back Saturday and have the rest removed and certainly won't be losing any sleep over it anyway hope this will help some of the pre op sisters you'll be fine honest
